Try patterns that are curved, like Drunkards Path. Or make your own curved pictures and then templates, etc.
Play Quilto. Explore and catalogue colour. Mini shows . Round Robins. Trading charms. All these ideas may not be original, but they do promote exchange of ideas and not everyone one in the guild is an old hand at quilting.
Invite an outside instructor to do a workshop. Give book reports. Challenges. .........
