Jessica Fourpatch's Case #113

Join Jessica FourPatch for another romp into the unknown (for awhile, that is!) as you make this jazzy quilt top in your choice of three different sizes. It will keep you busy, but bar none - you'll have a great quilt top to show for it!

Part 2

The numbers given correspond with the same "rules" we gave you to guide you through your necessary fabric quantities. No parentheses is for the Small project; (regular parentheses) are for the Medium project; and [brackets] are for the Large project. Again, we encourage you to go through and highlight, underline or circle the set of numbers which correspond to the size project you wish to make.

If you WILL be using GRIDDED GEESE, open your pack and tear off 6 (10) [15] grid sheets for this project. Follow the manufacturerÕs instructions to make a total of 72 (120) [180] Flying Geese units.

If you WILL NOT be using Gridded Geese, align one of your Light 2 1/2" squares so it's right sides together with one of your Dark #1 rectangles, 2 1/2" x 4 1/2". Sew diagonally across the square as shown in the diagram below. Trim the two layers 1/4" outside of the seam you just sewed. Press the remaining triangle back. Repeat for your remaining 71 (119) [179] Dark #1 rectangles.
Next, align one of your Light 2 1/2" squares so it's right sides together with one of the units you just made (above). Again, sew diagonally across the square as shown in the diagram below. Trim the two layers 1/4" outside the seam you just sewed. Press the remaining triangle back. Repeat for your remaining units to make a total of 72 (120) [180] Flying Geese units.

Once youÕve finished making your Flying Geese units, sew them together into sets of three as shown in the diagram below. Make sure the geese are all pointing in the same direction as you sew each set together.

You should now have a total of 24 (40) [60] of these strips of Flying Geese.
