Jessica Four-Patch presents: Case #108

© 1997 Merry May

Make a 64" square quilt top which includes an optional friendship block swap mid-way through the series. Or, keep all of your own blocks and gather your own bunches of signatures for your quilt. After all, as they say, "Friends are the Flowers in the Garden of Life!"

Please complete Part 3 before going on.

*** Part 4 ***

Count out sixteen (16) of your Fabric A & B half-square triangle units from Part 1. Also count out sixteen (16) of your Fabric A & C half-square triangle units from Part 1. Sew these, as well as your remaining sixteen (16) rectangles (2 1/2" by 4 1/2") of Fabric A to make sixteen (16) units that look like the diagram below.

Check the diagram frequently to make sure you are assembling these units correctly. If you don't, it could cause a bit of mayhem later on!!

Press seam allowances to the left, toward the half-square triangle units.

With 48 of your Fabric A & C half-square triangle units you made during Part 1, make four identical rows that look like the diagram below. There should be twelve (12) units in each row.

Notice that these triangles are not going in the same direction as those in the strips you pieced during Part 3!!

Be sure to visit our lovely web page again, when Jessica Four-Patch will reveal Part 5 of Case #108.
