Question of the Week

Question for the week of December 20, 2004:

Our question this week comes from Website mom, Sue T:

Time again for my annual question

What quilting goodies does everyone have on their holiday gift list this year?

deb :
rotary blades, bobbins, seam ripper (I'm always losing mine), fat quarters, simple patterns

Jillian :
A new Bernina has been on my list. I brought it home on 12/21. Finally by Christmas Eve, I was able to unpack it and get it on the table. It is a dream! Artista 200E.
Jane :
I want a "pinking" rotary cutter. I know I got it because I bought it myself--even an extra blade!
LInda :
An OTT light and the little machine that threads needles--both items needed because I'm at that age when my arms aren't long enough.
Kathy in WA :
Not a quilty thing as such, but it is a narrow narrow attachment for the vaccuum cleaner hose to more adequately clean the fuzzies out of the sewing machine. It will be useful for the computer as well.

I gave a joking hint about a sewing machine that is on sale at my LQS that has a wider bed and some extra stitches and features I would use, too. I don't expect it, but then, a couple of years ago I said "Look at that!" when passing a display at WM and got a purple microwave under the tree. I really have to be careful what I say in December.

judy :
I struggle with choosing colors. So the item on my list is not a "quilter's goodie" as such. My daughter is a graphic designer and she uses this. It is a small book called "Color Index" and features tons of color combinations and I know it will be a big help to me in my color selections.
Sue C. :
silk thread for applique
